As Seen On TV – Homemade Beauty!

On my latest appearance on CBC – The Steven and Chris Show we talked all about fun, fast and fresh ways to look and feel beautiful using all natural ingredients from your very own kitchen!

And, here’s how:

STRAWBERRIES

Strawberries contain an ingredient called – alpha hydroxy acid – which is great for exfoliating the skin!  Cut a berry in half and rub all over your face.  Let it sit for a few minutes – then rinse off with warm water.  Instantly you will notice softer and smoother skin in seconds!

Clean and whiten your teeth with strawberries!  Mash together a couple of strawberries in a bowl, then rub directly on your teeth.  The grittiness of the mixture will not only clean your teeth but it will gently remove stains and whiten them at the same time! And, who doesn’t want that!

LEMONS

Lemons have been used for centuries in all kinds of beauty products – because of it’s valuable nutrients and natural occurring acids.

Use Lemons to lighten dark & age spots on the face and body!  Freshly squeeze a lemon into a bowl, then with a cotton swab apply the juice directly to the areas needed.  You can do this everyday till the desired shade is achieved.  *If you have sensitive skin – you might want to dilute the juice first with some water – so it’s not as potent.

WATERMELON

Watermelon has an extremely high water content and is an excellent source of vitamin C – making it an incredible way to hydrate the skin as well as give you a nice clear complexion!

Mash watermelon in a bowl.  Then gently rub the mixture on your face with a face cloth in a circular motion. Leave on for several minutes – then rinse off with warm water, followed by a splash of cool water!   And, let me tell you, it feels so invigorating – I can’t even deal!

AVOCADO

Next is Avocado – also known as “Green Gold” – because of it’s wonderful nutrients and beneficial oils – that are great for moisturizing the skin!

Mash avocado in a bowl and rub on your face, the beautiful creamy texture will feel like a luscious mask instantly!  And will make your skin feel like butter!

Or, instead of throwing away the peels – try rubbing them directly on your skin till nice and soft!  The Avocado peel actually has hidden oils in there that are extremely good for the skin!

GREEN TEA

Green Tea has many great medicinal benefits, because of it’s powerful anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties – but did you know that it can also be used to reduce puffy eye’s?

Brew two tea bags – then squeeze the excess water and refrigerate over night!  In the morning place on your eyes for 10 minutes – and say Goody-bye to your Puffy-Eye!
