Ask Sandy: Bye Bye Pores

July 18, 11

QUESTION:
What makeup products (if any) help decrease the look of pores and fine lines?
(Stefanie)

ANSWER:

Hey Stefanie,

Their are lots of great products on the market that are designed to help minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines. Try using a primer, like the L’Oreal Studio Secret Professional Magic Perfecting Base - prior to your foundation application, to help smooth out the skin texture.  Then, once you have completed your makeup application – try setting everything with Bye Bye Pores HD Silk Micro-Powder ($24.00) from IT Cosmetics – it helps to make your skin look silky smooth!  It’s fab!

Hope that helps!  And, don’t forget to Wake.up & Make.up!

Ask Sandy! Ingrown Hairs

July 11, 11

QUESTION:
Hey Sandy,  I have a problem with ingrown hair.  I don’t shave, but prefer to wax.  And now I got ingrown hair, which isn’t very appealing.  I wanted to know how to remove them in a natural and easy way.  Thanks :)
(Nadia)

ANSWER:

Hey Nadia!  Here are some quick and easy tips to help you remove an ingrown hair:

Step One: CLEANSE & EXFOLIATE
Gently cleanse and exfoliate the skin first to help remove any dirt, dead skin cells and/or oils that may be lying on the surface of the skin.

Step Two:  APPLY A WARM COMPRESS
Wet a face cloth with warm water and gently apply over the area for approx. 3-5 minutes.  This will help to relax, soften and expose the hair follicle.

Step Three:  REMOVE
With a clean sterilized pointed tweezer – very gently pull the hair out of the skin.  If you can’t easily get to it – try the warm compress again – as you want to be careful not to dig, cut or irritate the skin.

Hope that helps!  And, don’t forget to Wake.up & Make.up!
