How-to Wear Shimmer At Any Age!

I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately from women asking me if they can wear ‘shimmer’ after the age of 30?  And, my answer to that question, is ABSOLUTELY!

Shimmer is used in cosmetics to help add a nice subtle glow to your makeup application – and there’s nothing I love more than a beautiful ‘glow’!  So, here are some easy tips on how to add a little shimmer in your life at any age!

Tip #1:

Make sure you’re using “shimmer” and not “glitter”.  Glitter, is a great way to add sparkle to a look, but is primarily used by fun teenagers or in stage makeup to help reflect light.  Shimmer is the more subdued relative, and can be worn by anyone.

Tip #2:

Use a light hand – If you’re going for a natural look and using products with “shimmer” in it, you’re going to want to keep the intensity to a minimum.  Always tap off the brush before applying it on your face and use a light hand.

Tip #3:

Intensify it - If you’re looking to create a dramatic look – try layering it. Shimmer builds really well and looks amazing when layered!

Tip #5:

Try using a shimmer eyeshadow on the inner corners of your eye’s to help make them look bigger and brighter!

Tip #6:

To add radiance to your face, try highlighting the top of your cheek bones with some shimmer. My favourite product on the market is: Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick – It is by far the greatest way to add the perfect glow!  The best part is that they come in a wide variety of shades – Beige, Bronze, Rose, Pink and Apricot - and can be used as a bronzer, blush and/or eyeshadow! Plus, they’re great for women of all ages!  A Definite Must Have!!

I hope this helped you out!

Removing your eye make.up – is easy!

Ladies, let me introduce you to one of my favourite products on the market: Lid-Care Towelettes.  It’s the most gentle, non-irritating eye makeup remover I have ever tried.  I first got introduced to this product when I got Laser eye surgery a few years ago.  I remember the Doctor saying that I had to use extremely gentle cleansers on my eyes for the first little while after surgery, and that’s when he gave me Lid-Care.  I have been hooked ever since.

My favourite, are the ones that come already pre-moistened and individually wrapped.  They are super easy to use and excellent for traveling!!  You never have to worry about your product spilling in your suitcase ever again!

It’s especially great for contact lens wearers and for people who have really sensitive eyes.  You can find Lid-Care over the counter at most pharmacies like Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart, in the eye care section.

This is a definite Must Have, for everyday and/or for traveling!

Light and Illuminating

On those days when you don’t feel like wearing foundation, but you still want to even out your skin tone, try using a tinted moisturizer.  My favourite product on the market hands down is Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer.  It has the perfect amount of lightweight buildable coverage that leaves your skin looking and feeling flawless! And, if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, it also comes in oil-free, so it’s good for all skin types!

Also, try their NEW! Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20.  It doesn’t have as much coverage as the original, but it’s like radiance in a bottle. A great way to add a beautiful glow!
