I developed adult acne around age 21. I am now 26 years old, and have tried numerous products for acne. I have combination skin, and find most acne products very drying. This is a major concern for me, as the drying effects of acne products tend to encourage a lot of scarring on my face. So far, I have been very pleased with my current skin regimine. Quite a few people have noticed the difference in my skin, and have started commenting on how beautiful my skin looks. I use Olay daily facials to cleanse my skin, and remove makeup. I follow with Neutrogena pore refining toner. Then I mix together Clean and Clear Spot treatment gel with Olay Total Effects Moisturizer, and apply to my entire face. I use about a dime sized amout of spot treatment to 1 "pump" of my moisturizer. If I have any visible acne on my face, I dab a little extra spot gel on each pimple. I've noticed that the breakouts have slowed, the tone and texture of my skin has greatly improved, and my pores are much smaller. I don't experience any dryness. Infact, my skin has a very luminescent glow now. All of this makes makeup application SO much easier. The best part is I'm getting a head start in combating wrinkles and aging effects, while treating my acne. =) Hopefully this hepls out.

I have been battling adult acne for about 10 years now. My skin is looking really good lately. I switched to SkinID by nuetragena. Each kit is based on your needs and your skin and environment. It worked fine on its own, but I noticed the real changes when I started alternating the face wash from the kit with a dead sea salt face cleanser. My scars are less noticeable and my skin is soft. I do not need to wear panstik anymore and the mineral make up alone is enough. I used to use bare essentuals but have found the e.l.f mineral make up works just as will and at a fraction of the cost.

I have been suffering from acne for about 10 years now and have tried literally everything (Accutane included) but it has always come back. BUT! Recently I stumbled upon a website called acne.org, which was made by this guy who suffered from severe acne and finally found something that works for him. It's very simple and I was VERY skeptical about it, as I always am, but I kid you not, my skin has been clear since I started doing this. I'll explain it briefly but if anyone is really interested, you need to go to the site and check out "regimen" to explain it better. It basically involves washing with a mild cleanser, then applying a LOT of benzoyl peroxide (2.5%) and then moisturizing. I have always hated topical treatments cause they dry my skin out so much but I just gave in and tried it again and my skin is adjusting. Take it from someone who knows what it's like to not think that ANYTHING will work because you've tried it all, and just give this a try. The key is you have to follow the directions very closely, the guy who demonstrates it gives details that are important. Go to acne.org and check it out. Good luck!
oh and if it makes you any less skeptical, this guy who owns the site even says that you can do this regimen with any products out there, not just his, and it'll work just fine.

Is Cetaphil oil-free moisturizer good for you skin,
or does it make your skin super oily and make you break out?
Do you know a cheaper moisturizer that is available in normal stores,
and is it true that a plain moisturizing lotion is great for your skin since it can be for all skin types with no grease or bad ingredients?
Please help, and thank you so much!

Oh wait nvm about the makeup, sorry.
BTW, would your skin look better still if
you used NeoStrata Blemish Spot Gel
instead of clindoxyl?
Or are there better serum's out there to use,
next to clindoxyl that don't cost as much?
Sorry, and thank you for your time!

hey girls, like everyone else probully. ive suffered from acne for about 6 years. and i finally found something that works and now there finally vanished. i was using proactibe, but the face wash wasnt working, the only thing that did work was that little tub you use for 10 mins, but i did a trick, instead of using it only for ten minutes, leave it on all night, your face will be super clear in the morning, but then again, that tub only last a little bit, then i remember my sisters friend saying a couple years ago about her using noxema, and back then i turned it down. i found my old bottle of it, in the blue container and started using it. i have never seen my face this clear in years, i get one or two, which is only during my menstrual cycle. and along with the blue container, i use noxema's triple clean anti-bacterial blackhead cleanser. both together makes amazing results. :)

Do you know any good mineral makeup to use thats under $15 ea?
I just researched the Maybelline mineral power makeup you presented,
and although SOME people recommended it,
most people said that the liquid foundation made your skin oily after approximately 2 hours.
Also, the Pressed Powder veil finish was said to be too thick and looked caked on when applied to your face.
Are there any other possible brands or different types of makeup that
doesn't look cake-y, and more natural?
I'm 14 and my skin is easily clogged by bad makeup,
and it's sometimes oily around the nose and forehead when I'm hot/sweaty,
and at the same time it sometimes peels and my skin cracks, especially during winter and after showers !
I have no idea what type of skin type i have, especially since its both oily and dry at times.
Also, thank you for introducing the type of skin care you use!
It's a great help, I'll be sure to buy them.
By the way, with my skin type should I buy Cetaphil "Oily Skin" or the "Gentle Cleanser" one?
I don't really like using 2 at the same time.
Do you need a perscription for Clindoxyl from a doctor/dermitologist?
Where would you buy NeoStrata?
PLEASE HELP!
Thanks so much, and if you have any suggestions/advice I would be extremely grateful to you!

I've been trying Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for 4 weeks now, i love the fact that is doesnt dry out face whatsoever and it doenst havea strong smell to it like other cleansers. I have been using MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation for a year now and ever since i started using this foundation i have been breaking out a lot, and i cant stop getting acne all over my face. I love the foundation and how it last all day but it just doesnt seem to be healthy for my face, do you have any suggestions? If so, i would be glad to hear from you.

Hey Girlies.

I found a FAB solution to my big pimples.
First you have to wash your fash twice a day(morning and night)
After you wash your face scrub it with a little bit of sugar. Then apply some moisturizer. do that everyday for a week and you'll see instant results. (my skin is so soft now!) when you notice that some of your fatty pimples are coming back repeat the steps.
( By the way, for me this didn't completely get rid of pimples but my face deffinatly cleared up)
hope this helps! :)

What an EXCELLENT video. Thank you Sandy. This was something I have wanted to know about for a long time.

I have had a problem for the last year. My forehead got WAY WAY clogged. So heres what I did and found no solution :(
1) Changed from Cetaphil cleanser (using for 10 years) to Netrogina
2) Thru out ALL tinted moisterizer as Id only break out more.
3) Used face cloths
4) Bought a HIGH FRQUENCY machine, pore cleanser, and led light , and extractor tools.

So I gave up and went to the doctor and he put me on MinoCycline. MAJOR improvements. Though my nose started to dry out. So now im using aquafor on my nose to prevent the craking dryness.

Now mineral makeup helps big time. Also, I make sure that I do not use any moisterizer on my forehead. I did by the NeoStrata and I swear by it - it works NICELY. It is only in Canada so I had to order to my home in California. I use it on my forehead and it works.

I have always used Eucerin moisterizer. Then I tried Clean and Clear with Salcytic acid (for acne ) and still break out. I do agree the neostrata is a good product.

The only thing I havent tried was GEL moisterizer and wondered if anyone else had any experience with it?

Finally, yes I do go and get facials once a month. My problem is mostly clogged pores that develop no head to extract.

Its all hormones. I do knmow that with many women, birth control pills help control acne ALOT.

Thank- you so much for this video.
I will deffinatly be hitting up my local drugstore tomorrow!
I've struggled with acne and acne scars for a couple years now and i always find it REALLY hard to find affordable treatments and make up to cover the red-ness.
i found that goat milk bar soap help get rid of some of the blemishes but not all. (but on the plus side it made my skin super soft!)
i'd like to know if any one knows anything about the Neutrogena Wave.
I'm not sure if it's worth the money to try it, because i dont want to find out its just another treatment that doesnt work. any advice Sandy?
thank you muchly! :)

I have used almost every product out there and it seems like nothing works. I have combination skin, either the products completely dry out my skin, and after moisturizing it seems to get worse. The products that dont leave my skin dry seem to leave it too oily. I have changed moisturizers so many times that im loosing count. For the past 2 years i have been on a birth control that acts as an acne fighter, and it cleared up my skin alot, but it still leaves me with the acne under my skin. Im just lost at this point, i have been dealing with my acne since i was 13, and I'm turning 20 soon, so it would be nice to start my adult-hood without the acne. Any advice?

I have been using Proactiv for about 3 years now. Sometimes it really works, but when i have a breakout it doesn't seem to help at all. I am very frustrated cause i have suffered from acne since i was 13, and i am now 25. I have cetaphil but will it really work?? I have combination skin and it dries out easily. What is a good daily moisturizer?

Especially during the summer time, Maybelline mineral products seem like a great idea.

Best advice I've received about treating my acne - be gentle with your skin as irritation can make acne worse. I use 3 or 4 products depending on the day.

At night, I wash my face with Clean & Clear Daily Pore Cleanser to gently scrub away sweat, oil, makeup. Pat dry and WAIT a few mins. Then apply Pan-Oxyl AquaGel (5% Benzoyl Peroxide) to the problem areas (T-zone for me). Wait for it to dry. Then apply a gentle moisturizer - I use Body Shop Aloe Soothing Night Cream in the winter, Day cream for the rest of the seasons.

In the morning, I use Body Shop Aloe Soothing Cream Cleanser followed by either the day cream or the Body Shop Aloe Soothing Lotion with SPF 15.

I recommend you find out what works for you and change it up as you feel necessary.
