Q: Hi Sandy, I love your blog, it’s very informative…I wanted to ask you if you need a different moisturizer for winter and summer? Help me Please! (From: Lidia)
A: Dear hydrated,
Absolutely! A different moisturizer for winter is a must! It is only natural that as the temperature drops below zero, the air outside is obviously colder and drier than in the summer months, which means our poor skin, if not taken care of properly, can become irritated and excessively dry!!…(oh, how I already miss you Summer…the hot sunshine glistening on my shoulders, tanning on the beach, pina colada’s…sigh…i’ll miss you the most, flip flop…only 240 more days till i see you again…)
Here are some quick and easy tips to help protect your skin from the harsh winter conditions!
1. Try using a rich face cream instead of lotion. A cream is a heavier moisturizer than a lotion, which will provide that extra hydration you’re looking for during the colder months! Also, if you don’t already do so, try moisturizing both morning and night, that’ll help keep you skin feeling nice and soft!
There are many great face creams on the market…so make sure to find the right one for your skin type. I try new creams all the time. Right now, I’m using a Vichy moisturizer as my day cream, which I love! And, Creme de la Mer as my night cream. I like using a richer cream at night, because at night, our body relaxes and thats when all the repairing and hydrating happens.
2. Use an SPF! Just because Summer is over, it doesn’t mean we don’t need to continue protecting our skin from the harmful rays of the sun, especially when partaking in outdoor winter sports, like snowboarding and/or skiing!! Tip: Try getting a foundation that has an SPF in it…two steps in one! How easy is that!
3. Always use a lipbalm, to keep your lips moisturized and hydrated! Avoid dry chapped lips, by re-applying a good lip balm as often as you can!! Also, never lick or pick at your lips! (Jessie, stop it, put your hands down!!…that’s my sister and her bad habit!)
4. Use an eye cream! The skin under your eye’s need moisturizing just like your face does…so be sure to buy a good eye cream to keep that area hydrated and looking fresh!
Well, I hope that helped you out!
And of course, don’t forget to wake.up & make.up! I’m Sandy Gold and I’m out!

hi Sandy,
Do you think Creme de la Mer is worth the price?
No! I don’t mean that doesn’t worth it, but there are many other creams that can give you the same efect for a fraction of the price that you will pay for la Mer.
Hey Sandy! I love your videos, it really helps individuals with what they’re looking for. I believe your videos help bring smiles to a lot of people. It gives everyone self-worth and determination to everything you have advised about. I was wondering what kind of moisturizer would be perfect for individuals who have acne all over their face, and i was wondering if you could do a video on it too. A lot of people would benefit to this. Acne is a big issue to those who have trouble putting makeup on. Thank you so much for all of your tips and help. You’re hardwork and effort helps users like me to visit your page everyday. Congratz

Hello Sandy! I love your videos! Keep up the good work..
I have a question though, i have a combination skin, i live in the Philippines and because of the tropical heat, my make up disappears after 2 hours! I use waterbased moisturizer and a little foundation to my skin, put on blush on, a little gloss then im ready to go. When i look at the mirror after 2 hours, my make up is gone, and my skin doesnt look that good anymore.
Any tips on how to make my make up last longer?
