Happy Earth Day!

April 22, 09

Each year – Earth Day – falls on April 22nd – and marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. (earthday.net)

There are lots of things we can do to take part in helping the environment today – and everyday!  We can plant a tree, pick up a piece of garbage on the street, recycle, compost, make your home more energy efficient by turning off lights when you’re not in the room, unpluging appliances when your not using them, to buying beauty products that are eco-friendly and organic.

So, since today is “green” day, I thought I would share with you just one of my favourite eco-friendly beauty products.

Ladies, let me introduce you to PlantLove by CARGO – a complete line of eco-fabulous makeup that truely is “beauty with a conscience.”  From it’s natural and organic ingredients to it’s environmentally award-winning compostable packaging, Cargo PlantLove is a great way to ‘go green’ glamorously!

PLANT THE SEEDS OF CHANGE

Their lipsticks come in a compostable lipstick case made from corn! “This revolutionary bio-plastic is not only made from a renewable resource, it’s also greenhouse-gas-neutral, which helps us fight global warming. Even the box* the lipstick comes in is eco-friendly. Just moisten and plant it to grow your own wildflowers.” How cool is that!!  (cargocosmetics.com,  * Seeded cartons only available in North America)

Did you see the one from Canada!

If you haven’t heard of Nahinni before it’s a National Park Reserve in the Dehcho Region of the Northwest Territories in Canada, approximately 500 km West of Yellowknife.  See image below!  (wikipedia.org) (Image Credit: www.pc.gc.ca
