Makeup Tips For Spring 2009

Spring Cleaning is definitely in order this month – which means out with the old and in with the new! And, the same goes for your make-up bag!
Here are some quick tips to looking fresh and pretty this Spring:
The Look
This season’s look (found on the runways of Prada, Donna Karan and Dolce and Gabbana) is fresh and clean. Flawless foundation, soft highlighting on the eyes, nose and cheeks, nude lips with a hint of baby pink and a few coats of mascara. Beautiful!
The Foundation
Try using a tinted moisturizer instead of a heavy foundation. Light and sheer is the look we are going for. If you have freckles – let them shine through! Finish with a light dusting of translucent powder to set the look.
The Cheeks
Peachy Pinks of any and every shade will do. But don’t over do it. Always remember to tap off the brush first – on the back of your hand – before applying it on the face.
The Eyes
Think natural and fresh – try applying a neutral tone eyeshadow in a light beige-brown on the lid only. To kick this look up a bit, try adding a darker shade of brown into the crease of the eyelid, finished by a chocolate brown toned liner.
The Lips
Go soft and glossy. A simple baby pink or nude lipgloss will do just fine – but don’t forget the shine!

Green Nail Polish?

Yep. It’s true! Chanel models were sporting a minty green nail polish on the runways in Paris while promoting their new Fall/Winter 2009 Collection.
I kind of like the mint green? I might wear it on my toes? What do you think? Would you wear it?

Sunny Fong Wins Project Runway Canada

Last night – Sunny Fong - won the second season of “Project Runway Canada,” a fashion based reality show on Global TV.
As the winner, Fong will receive a cover and feature spread in ELLE Canada, a L’Oreal Paris Professional portfolio photo shoot, a business mentorship with Winners and $100,000 to start his own fashion line.
“My experience on Project Runway Canada has definitely been life changing,” said Fong in a release.
He was my favourite designer – so I am really happy for him. Congratulations Sunny!! If you ever need a Make-up Artist, call me! Yiippee!
