Q: Hi Sandy, Firstly I’d like to say I love love love your videos!!!…My question for you is, what’s the best order for putting on these products?…Primer, foundation, concealer, powder, cream blush? Does concealer go on my face before primer? Thanks for your help! (from: Christine)

A: Dear Christine, It is very easy to get confused as to which products go on when, at what time and in which order. So here are a few easy tips that will hopefully help you out!

I like to follow the rule: Liquids and creams first, powders always last.

By following this rule, it makes it really easy to know which products go on when, and in which order.

So to answer your question, Primer always goes on first. It’s called “primer” because it’s suppose to prepare the skin for your make.up application (…think of it like painting your house. You always start off with a primer first, as your “base”, then you add the colour!).

Next, (assuming your foundation and concealer are both liquid/cream based) I would use foundation, concealer, cream blush and last but not least, I would top it all off with a light dusting of powder.

**Applying your powder last will really help to set your make.up, allowing it to stay on longer throughout the day.

** Don’t forget that the same rule applies with your eye make.up. So if you are using cream eyebase or eyeshadow, you must apply them first before using your powder eyeshadow!

Well I hope that helped you out! And don’t forget to wake.up and make.up!

I’m Sandy Gold and I’m out!

My question is, what eyeliner do you recommend as the rimmel one I use smudges off + runs easily after a while. Thanks!

Hi sandy, I love yoru video and you are a great presenter!
I was wondering about face skin: how do you do to have such glowing skin? I have spots on the chin all the time.. I wash, put lotion and cream everyday but maybe the products are wrong? Or maybe I don’t eat properly?
I drink lots of water too.
    kisses from paris
