Sandy’s passion for entertainment and her down to earth and vivacious personality helped her land her first television job at Citytv at the age of 17. While working in the entertainment industry for years, Sandy has dabbled in everything from, timing live shows as a Production Assistant for CityLine, Floor Directing for Much Music’s Electric Circus, Ed the Sock and the Much Music Video Awards to Reporting stories for Electric Circus News and Rogers Television.
While working in television, Sandy concurrently pursued a Psychology degree from York University. During this time she began to follow her other passion, make-up. She received training and worked for some of most prestigious cosmetic lines such as Bobbi Brown, Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Nars and Laura Mercier. She has also created flawless faces for many well known Celebrities and Athletes like: Chris Bosh, Mats Sundin, Vernon Wells, Elle MacPherson, Viggo Mortensen, Kevin Bacon, Robin Tunney and Jeff Daniels to name a few.
Today, Sandy is the Creator of the popular Beauty Blog – www.happiface.com – which receives thousands of hits a day – and is an Online Beauty Video Producer and Host creating How-to Beauty Videos on YouTube and for clients such as: FLARE Magazine, Schwarzkopf Professional and Movie Entertainment Magazine - where she not only Produces and Hosts her own videos - she also does all the editing!
Her makeup videos focus on ‘everyday makeup’ teaching women easy do-it-yourself tips and techniques and is most well known on YouTube for her “Sandy’s Basic Smokey Eye” video which has received well over 2.5 million hits.
Sandy gained popularity outside the YouTube community thanks to the recognition of various television and magazine media. The first publication to feature her how-to beauty videos was The New York Times, followed by The Rachael Ray Show, Good Morning America, Self Magazine, Flare.com, the Toronto Star and Cosmetic World. Sandy has also been seen demonstrating her tips and techniques on a variety of television shows and online media like: Breakfast Television Toronto and Calgary, Global Morning News and Global News at 6pm, CH Morning Live, A-Channel Morning London and Barrie, CHEX TV, Vibe 98.5, 103.1 FM, Rogers Television London and Mississauga, Elle Canada.com and FLARE.com.
