
Sandy Gold is considered an industry leader in beauty trends and techniques. From her beauty blog – happiface.com – to her how-to beauty videos on YouTube and her numerous television appearances – Sandy knows how to make looking beautiful feel achievable for women all across Canada and the rest of the world.
Sandy’s down-to-earth, vivacious and humorous personality helped her land her first television job at Citytv at the age of 17. While working in television for years, she dabbled in everything from Floor Directing to Entertainment Reporting.
During this time, Sandy concurrently pursued a Psychology degree from York University and began to follow her love for makeup. She worked for prestigious cosmetic lines such as Bobbi Brown, Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, and Laura Mercier. She has also created flawless faces for: Chris Bosh, Mats Sundin, Vernon Wells, Elle MacPherson, Viggo Mortensen, Kevin Bacon, Robin Tunney and Jeff Daniels.
In 2006 – Sandy decided to combine both of her passions – makeup and television – and began Hosting and Producing her own series of How-to Beauty Videos for YouTube. Since then, her videos have received over 6 Million views, 14,000 plus subscibers and is ranked #35 – Most Subscribed and #31 – Most Viewed (All Time) – Gurus – Canada. She has also gained popularity outside the YouTube community thanks to the recognition from: The New York Times, The Rachael Ray Show, Good Morning America, Self Magazine and The Toronto Star.
Today, Sandy can be seen on CosmoTV every Wednesday at 9:30pm as the Makeup Stylist on Rags to Red Carpet; a new makeover series that brings the glitz and glam of Hollywood into the lives of everyday women. She also makes regular guest appearances on CBC – The Steven and Chris Show.
